As a resident of Ward 8, a neighborhood blogger, and an employee of ARCH Development Corporation I can barely contain my excitement for the H Street Playhouse coming to Anacostia. I am looking forward to working with them in the community and I look forward to them bringing their own special brand of talent to our neighborhood. This is a wonderful neighborhood playhouse and I am glad that they chose Anacostia. This is a win for the community, local businesses, and the arts. There are so many talented people from both sides of the river who worked hard to make this happen. A round of applause for everyone and for Anacostia.

This is a very exciting and joyous time.

I'm looking forward to the playhouse coming to Anacostia. Now they have decided to move here, we need to stop calling it H St Playhouse until they choose a new name. Calling it H St Playhouse moving to Anacostia symbolizes that you want to bring H St to Anacostia -- not good. Yes, it will bring a welcome change to the neighborhood, but I and many others are worried about the obvious effects of "gentrification" that you see on H St and other revitalized neighborhoods in the City. I'm still waiting for someone to show me a revitalized neighborhood that truly symbolizes a healthy balance of races. It seems all the change neighborhoods have also completely changed the race of the neighborhood
