Opening Reception: Saturday, July 13 from 1pm to 4pm

The event runs through August 2, 2013.

From Dance Place, to the Monroe Street Studios, to the Benjamin T. Rome School of Music, Ward 5 is home to some of the most diverse talents in the city. Artists Off-Rhode is your chance to experience some of the visual artists currently living and working in Ward 5.

With the support of Ward 5 Councilmember Kenyan McDuffie, and events such as the upcoming opening of the Brookland Studios, Ward 5 is one of the city’s leading destinations for artists of all stripes.  To quote McDuffie: “Our community is not only inspired by the arts, our community is employed in the arts, and educated by the arts.”

Join Art Enables in celebrating community and the creative forces fueling our area’s development and see new work from a sampling of the diverse artists found in Ward 5: Quilted wall hangings by Sandra Hassan, large colorful oils by Peter Harper, delicate plaster surface works by Lisa Rosenstein, the lyrical figures of TH Gomillion and much more.

Off Rhode Gallery at Art Enables is located at 2204 Rhode Island Ave NE. For more information visit www.art-enables.org/off-rhode, call 202.554.9455, or email [email protected]
