Pieces of You is an exhibition featuring a series of mixed media portraits created by Chanel Compton. She is fascinated or has a personal connection with the subjects in these portraits be it musicians, celebrities, and friends (real and imaginary). Compton deconstructs and reconstructs these portraits with layers of paper, paint, charcoal, and whatever else she can gets her hands on. Within her work, Compton searches for the physical and emotional elements of each person she paints; layer by layer, piece by piece.
