Opening Reception: Saturday, March 1 from 6pm to 8pm

The exhibition runs March 1 to March 29, 2014.

In his second solo exhibition with the gallery, Mason Saltarrelli continues his examination of object symbols, religious and spiritual iconography and the characterizations of martyrs in his multi media work.

Pages from the Neon Bible includes new paintings, works on paper and sculptural elements that interact within the artist’s decision process. Saltarrelli’s choices in medium are derived through various degrees of self-reflective influence. Random sculptural objects are acquired by chance and arranged within time. Drawings are quickly rendered, relating to the sculptural elements, religious, spiritual and folk narratives and the artist’s personal symbolic language. Paintings are further abstractions of the narrative, deconstructed over time into line, form and color.

Mason Saltarrelli was born in New Orleans and currently lives and works in New York.
