Art Works Studio is working with a small developer to create a multi-use facility at 4800 Rhode Island Avenue in Hyattsville, Md. The building being renovated is the former Marche Florist and it will house Art Works and a restaurant (soon to be disclosed). The City of Hyattsville has given a $90K Facade Improvement Grant to the project and construction should begin mid-July.
The new facility will have four studios a Young Artists’ Space, 2D Studio, 3D Studio, and a Digital Sandbox. There will also be an art matters gallery, an outdoor work/play space, and an original greenhouseAlong with this new space, Art Works Studio is developing an innovative after-school program that will include growing food, drawing and sculpting food, and cooking and eating food.
