DC Open Air: Interpreted

DC Open Air: Interpreted, part of the 202 Arts and Music Festival sponsored by DC Commission on Arts and Humanities, closed September 9, 2017, with a day-long display of work at the Southwest Waterfront. For seven days, an invited group of 11 area artists met to paint on locations around DC. Included in the group were four members of the Washington Society of Landscape Painters (WSLP). On Saturday, the main day of the Festival, the artists painted events of the Festival and scenes of the waterfront itself. WSLP participants included Bernard Dellario, JoEllen Murphy, Jean Schwartz, and Barry Lindley. This event, organized by arts consultant Rose Frederick of Denver, was the first paint-out sponsored by the DC Commission on Arts and Humanities.

Photographs show the WSLP participants.
