Following a competitive process, Joe’s was selected as one of four nonprofits to receive capacity building grant. On December 4th, the Prince George’s County Council announced their partnership with Venture Philanthropy Partners to provide capacity building grants to Prince George’s County nonprofits that serve high-school students. The Ready for Work Nonprofit Capacity Building Initiative is intended to strengthen nonprofits to better serve youth across the county.
The key goal of Ready for Work is to strengthen and build networks of community-based organizations that provide integrated supports and high quality services for students. Joe’s is joined by First Generation College Bound, The Foundation for the Advancement of Music and Education (FAME), and End-Time Harvest Ministries as the selected nonprofits.
Joe’s was invited to apply and ultimately selected for our work with high-school aged students, both in school and out of school, through our CreativeWorks program. CreativeWorks (formerly TTP) was established in 2008 as a vocational training program in theater production and digital media that prepares youth and young adults to secure employment and prepare for higher education.
