Artist Talk: Wednesday, June 10 at 7pm

Join Hamiltonian for a conversation between Hamiltonian Fellow Larry Cook and Akili Ron Anderson, Assistant Professor of the Department of Art at Howard University. The two artists will discuss Cook’s newest body of work Stockholm Syndrome, currently on view at Hamiltonian Gallery through Saturday, June 20th.

Larry Cook received his MFA from George Washington University in 2013. A 2013 Sondheim finalist and Hamiltonian Fellow, he has been included in various group shows including Ceci n’est pas une T.V. at the Fine Art Gallery at The George Mason University (2015); the Trawick Prize Finalist Exhibition at Gallery B (2014); Academy 2013 at CONNERSMITH. and Artist Citizen at Hemphill Fine Art (2012). Solo exhibitions include (e)merge art fair (2014), Stamp Gallery (2014) and Pleasant Plains Workshop (2013). A native of Landover, MD, Cook has taught Photography at The George Washington University, American University and is currently an art teacher at Northwestern High School in Hyattsville, MD.

Akili Ron Anderson provides for the visual enhancement needs of cultural, religious and public institutions. He designs, fabricates and installs stained glass windows, sculptural forms, fine art paintings and theater sets.  Mr. Anderson attended The Corcoran School of Art (1964-1965) and Howard University, School of Arts and Science, Division of Fine Arts (1965-1969), (2005-2008), BFA, MFA. Mr. Anderson has  exhibited nationally and internationally in group shows, primarily as a member of the “AfriCOBRA” artist collective.
