East City Art Presents: In the Artist’s Words—Jay Coleman

East City Art presents In the Artist’s Words, an artist talk series hosted in partnership with DC Public Libraries.

Artist Jay Coleman will speak about his work and its many artistic facets including his recently completed Mayor 4 Life mural in Anacostia which pays homage to former Mayor Marion Barry, Jr. Coleman is an accomplished portrait artist, tattoo artist, sculptor and educator. He is currently working on a large bronze sculpture for the Barry Farms Recreation Center.

The talks are free and open to the public. There is off-street parking located in the rear of the Anacostia Library.

The Anacostia Library is located at 1800 Good Hope Road SE in the Ora Glover Community Room located downstairs and accessible only by elevator from the main street level.
