Tuesday, February 9 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Freeman’s talk will focus on two series of paintings on canvas including The Chittlin Circuit Review, based on the early history of Blues Music and the conditions that caused its birth and fruition with a presentation of about 15–20 images. The second part will discuss the next series BAHIA !, based on the Afro-Bahian contribution to Brazilian-Bahian culture and history. While currently in progress, Freeman will present 10 – 15 images of the BAHIA ! series.
Lastly, Freeman will discuss his mural work showing about 10–15 images. Throughout the visual presentation, Freeman will discuss his inspiration, career, and direction. A Q&A will follow the end of the talk.
The talks are free and open to the public. There is off-street parking located in the rear of the Anacostia Library.
