The application is now live for BloomBars: imPRINT, a juried group exhibition curated by Robert Bettmann and John Chambers. An honoraria of $250 will be provided to selected participating artists, and there is no cost to apply.
BloomBars: ImPRINT pairs a visual art exhibit at the Columbia Heights-based community arts center with article publication by the participating artists. Included artists will write an article about their work for publication in the arts magazine Bourgeon.
The Gallery at BloomBars presents exhibitions and programs that spark important conversations and encourage relationships between the artist and community. The Gallery’s interdisciplinary approach opens the door to bold experimentation and unique partnerships that support its mission to present the diversity of human experiences, raise consciousness and inspire personal growth.
The BloomBars: imPRINT exhibition will be on display April 12 to May 5, 2018 at the Gallery at BloomBars in Columbia Heights, 3222 11th St NW, Washington, DC 20010.
Six artists will be selected for inclusion, and honoraria of $250 will be provided to the selected participating artists. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis, and for best consideration applications are due by December 17th. Selections will be made be exhibition curators John Chambers (BloomBars) and Robert Bettmann (Bourgeon/Day Eight).
Connected to the exhibition, participating artists will write an article about their work for the arts magazine Bourgeon – online at www.Bourgeononline.com. This is an opportunity for visual artists to have their work shown, and to coalesce their own conversation(s) surrounding their work.
