Deadline: Friday, January 8, 2016
BlackRock Center for the Arts is now accepting entries for “Handmade: Explorations in Fiber Art,” a regional juried exhibition open to all artists over the age of 18 who live or work in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, DC, or West Virginia.
Artists may submit up to 3 works using traditional and/or non-traditional materials and textile techniques which include weaving, quilting, embroidery, beading, felting, crochet, knitting, lacework, hooking, sewing, spinning, tapestry, mixed media and new innovations. Both hanging and pedestal works will be considered. All artwork must be original and have been created within the past three years (2013, 2014, or 2015).
Juror of Selection and Awards will be Trudi Van Dyke. BlackRock no longer requires the use of the cable hanging system in our galleries and now allows artwork installations which require nails, screws or other fasteners. Selected works will be exhibited February 4-27, 2016.
