Arts Specialist
The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Prince George’s County, Parks and Recreation, Arts and Cultural Heritage Division is seeking an Arts Specialist. The Arts Specialist will produce a variety of arts programs throughout the County to include musical theatre, plays, dance performances, concerts, classes, special events, and other arts programs for youth, teens, adults and seniors. The Arts Specialist will develop arts programs for community centers, partner organizations and the County using research for best practices in developing community arts programs. The programs should be self-sustaining, have purposeful outcomes and have a positive impact on the program’s participants.

Arts Coordinator
The Maryland- National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Prince George’s County, Parks and Recreation, Arts and Cultural Heritage Division is seeking an Arts Coordinator. Monitors the day-to-day operations, maintenance and activities of the Art Facilities. This position sets deadlines and reviews the facilities’ proposed annual program and exhibit schedule to ensure that artistic and cultural needs of the general community and the arts community are met; makes programming recommendations; ensures programming addresses revenue requirement; recommends facility improvements and renovations and repairs; requests needed maintenance; reviews facility staffing requirements, staff schedules and approves time cards and leave requests; solicits community input and feedback for programs; attends events; and occasionally reviews classes to ensure quality and participants are registered and holds regularly scheduled meetings with staff. Responds to inquiries and requests for information, concerns and complaints from citizens, user and citizen groups and organizations, and government agencies, and citizens and volunteer organizations.

Director, Prince George’s Publick Playhouse
The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Prince George’s County, Parks and Recreation, Arts and Cultural Heritage Division is seeking a Facility Director. Under general direction, manages the day to day operation of a Performing Arts venue. Manages the performance space, box office, facility rental programs, performing arts camps and classes. Researches, develops and implements a wide variety of revenue generating programs and performing arts genres to ensure access and engagement of diverse populations. Supervises full and part-time staff; acting as a liaison with artists and arts organizations throughout the community. Manages and monitors the facility’s budget expenditures and revenues; provides budget projections and reports as needed. Oversees facility maintenance and security and ensuring the proper operating procedures are in compliance, and monitoring building utility systems and repairs. Develops successful business strategies and methodologies to achieve optimum facility operations.
