Community Art Series: Artist Studio Tour
Saturday, April 8 from 10am – 3pm
Catch the museum shuttle for this popular monthly program and visit community artists in their homes and studios. Stops include Red Dirt Studios, Mt. Rainer, MD, and Cynthia Sands Studio,Washington, DC.

$10 pre-registration transportation fee required. You may pay the transportation fee online, or on the bus by cash or check (payable to the Anacostia Community Museum).

Panel Discussion: Afro-Latinos in Chocolate City
Saturday, April 15 from 4 – 8pm
Panelists discuss how being Black and Latino have shaped and informed their lives personally and professionally. Speakers include Julio Guity-Guevara, Deputy Director, DC Mayor’s Office on Latino Affairs; Manuel Mendez, President, DC Afro-Latino Caucus; John Clarke, Ward 1 Liaison, DC Mayor’s Office of Community Relations and Services. Guided tours of the museum’s exhibition Gateways will be available between 1pm and 2pm. A reception follows the panel with a performance by James Lovell and Garifuna.
