Opening Reception: Friday, April 7 from 6pm to 9pm

Artists & Makers Studios on Parklawn in Rockville will present three powerful exhibits in three galleries for the month of April. Discreet Objects with Lori Anne Boocks, Friend or Foe with Aline Martinez, and Finding My Own Voice will fill the galleries at A&M on Parklawn. In this era of constant communications Boocks obscures and reveals meaning by presenting nuance and subtext in her multi-media works. Martinez explores the political, personal, expressive, sacred, and utilitarian perspective of human responses to life events throughout the ages through sculpted human torsos. Local artists participate in the second annual victims’ rights exhibit marking April as a month of remembrance. Resident artists will also throw open the doors of their studios for visitors.

Viewing hours:

  • Tuesday-Friday: 10am – 4pm
  • Saturdays: 10am – 4pm
  • Sundays/Mondays by chance or appointment.
