Arlington Arts Center announces its Fall 2015 and Spring 2016 SOLOS artists. Following a call in early 2015, jurors Melissa Ho, Assistant Curator at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, DC, and Chicago-based artist, Jefferson Pinder, recommended 14 artists for inclusion in AAC’s 2015-16 cohort of SOLOS artists.

Each year, artists from Virginia, Maryland, Washington, DC, Delaware, and West Virginia are invited to submit proposals to this competitive program. Jurors review each proposals based on a range of criteria including compatibility with AAC’s mission of promoting new work by regional artists.

Selected artists are considered ‘cutting edge’ by the jurors, and work in a variety of traditional and new media including painting, sculpture, installation, photography, and performance.

Fall SOLOS 2015 will open with a reception Saturday, Oct. 24, 6-9pm, and will be on view Oct. 24 to Dec. 20. Spring SOLOS 2016 opens Apr. 16 and will run through Jun. 12, with an opening reception Saturday, Apr. 16, 6-9pm.
