Opening Receptions: Friday, December 2 from 6pm to 9pm
It’s About Love and Believing is Seeing
A Year-End Contemplation
Artists & Makers Studios on Parklawn in Rockville will present two exhibits in three galleries for the month of December. It’s About Love with painter John Bodkin will fill the Gallery Hall. Love has many flavors, many moods…and it provides a very real and meaningful place to find imagery and ideas, flashes of insight that people can connect with, because while universal it is deeply personal and intimate for each of us. Believing is Seeing with the Women’s Caucus for Art/DC is an exhibit juried by Rebecca Cross of the Cross MacKenzie Gallery in Georgetown. In the world of science as in much of life, seeing is believing. In the world of art, more often the reverse is true: believing is seeing. In the studio an artist borrows from her own imagination and vision, whether from a very personal inner world, or from the material world around her.
Additionally A&M is proud to announce the soft opening of Artists & Makers Studios 2 at 12276 Wilkins Avenue in Rockville, just 9/10’s of a mile from the flagship location. A celebration is in order. Come visit the artists’ studios and take in two glorious exhibits: The Reachable Shore with renowned figurative artist Judith Peck, whose work will be featured in January’s issue of American Art Collector Magazine – and the grand opening of the New Masters Art Gallery with 28 of the area’s finest representational painters.
- Tuesday-Friday: 10am – 4pm
- Saturdays: 10am – 4pm
- Sundays/Mondays by chance or appointment.
The business offices at both locations will be closed for the holiday on Dec. 23-24th.
