Through October 2.

The Capitol Hill Art League, a program of the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop, presents 24 art works that illuminate the physical universe through the four substances of “Elements” – air, water, fire, and earth.

Eighteen artists working in a variety of medium from watercolor to thread on paper have been selected by juror, Carolina Mayorga, for their success in conveying the elements in this pre-art season show of the Capitol Hill Art League.  The artists were asked to interpret which of the elements inspired them and were restricted to only a 12” by 12” finished piece.  The works will hang on the dedicated Capitol Hill Art League wall in the CHAW gallery through October 2nd.

The artists will learn at the opening which pieces have won First, Second and third place recognition during the juror’s remarks. Carolina Mayorga received a BFA in Art and Textiles in Bogotá and a MFA in sculpture from the University of Kansas. Has had one-person exhibitions in Colombia, Mexico, at the University of Kansas and in Washington D.C. Has also participated in group exhibitions in Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Sweden and several cities of The United States including Washington, DC; New York, NY; Loveland, CO; Hickory, NC; and Baltimore, MD.
