The Capitol Hill Art League (CHAL) begins its 2016-17 Season with a show entitled Show and Tell, juried by Glen Kessler. The show will run October 1 through November 3 in the CHAW Gallery, which is free and open to the public during CHAW business hours.
Glen Kessler earned a BFA in Painting from Maryland Institute College of Art and an MFA in Painting from the New York Academy of Art. He is the founder and director of The Compass Atelier in Rockville, MD. Recent awards include being named the winner of the first annual Invitational “Paint the Town Art Show” at the Kensington Armory in 2015, and being chosen as a finalist in the Abstract/ Experimental Category of “The Artist’s Magazine 32nd Annual Art Competition” in 2015. His work has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions, and is held in private collections throughout the US, Canada, UK, France, Israel, and Australia.
The eighteen artists featured in the show represent a wide range of media including clay, oil, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media, graphite, pencil, collage, and photography.
Those receiving awards are:
- First Place: Eve D Sandmeyer
- Second Place: Ken Bachman
- Third Place: Kim Bursic
- Honorable Mention: Marilyn Christiano and Karen Cohen
In addition, the work of these artists will be presented: M’el Abrecht, Kasse Andrews-Weller, Sally Canzoneri, Kay Fuller, Bob Fuller, Tara Hamilton, Charles Martin, Isabella Martire, Linda Norton, Meera G Rao, Ann Thomson, Karen Van Allen, and Karen Zens.
