Come find out. DC LIQUOR – 66 photographs of liquor stores taken by Flore de Préneuf between June 2015 and July 2017 in Washington DC, are on display for a few weeks in the former home of Walter Johnson’s liquor store, at the corner of Florida Ave and North Capitol St.
Flore de Préneuf, a writer and photographer born in France in 1973, has lived in the Washington DC area for 15 years. Previous work includes Local Color, an artist book of photos from Texas produced in 2008, and Chronique d’un dialogue de sourds, an account of four years of war and peace in Jerusalem, published by Labor et Fides in 2003. Flore won the ‘Spirit of Washington’ award at FotoWeek DC in 2010. She was part of the Emerge Art Fair in 2013 with a 4×5 camera and backdrop setup called When We First Met and SELECT 2014, the Washington Project for the Arts Auction and Gala, with another portrait salon called Garden Party.
