Featured Artist for the month/December: Cindi Lewis
Using a variety of traditional oil painting techniques, photos and sketches, Cindi Lewis creates art with “visual rhythm echoing the musical rhythm of the performers onstage.” She states, “As an artist, I have become intrigued by live music: the effects of stage lights; the shapes and patterns created by the equipment; the motion and energy of the performers; the interaction of the musicians with each other, their instruments, and their audience. My paintings depicting performing musicians are intended to capture and highlight the things that set live music apart from listening to recorded music.”
First Fridays (first Friday of every month), Gallery Underground hosts an art reception FREE and open to all from 5-8pm. Each month the entire gallery changes its exhibit and presents a new show from talented local members.
