All events listed take place at Glen Echo Park and are open to the public without pre- registration. Glen Echo Park is located at 7300 MacArthur Blvd., Glen Echo, Maryland, six miles northwest of Georgetown along the Potomac River. The Park also offers hundreds of classes and workshops in visual and performing arts each year. These are listed in the Catalog of Classes and Events, published semi-annually, and require pre-registration.

Holiday Art Show & Sale
November 19 to January 8
Browse and buy fine artworks for everyone on your holiday shopping list at the annual Holiday Art Show & Sale, presented by Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts and Culture. The exhibition features works by resident artists, instructors, and invited artists and includes glass, ceramics, jewelry, photography, painting, crafts, and more. Check website for holiday hours. Popcorn Gallery & Stone Tower Gallery, Thursdays and Fridays, 10am – 2pm (through Dec. 30); Saturdays and Sundays, 11pm – 6pm (through Jan. 8). Closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.

Winter’s Eve
December 10
Location: Arcade Building
Celebrate the holiday season at the Park’s annual Winter’s Eve event. Enjoy FREE activities including holiday crafts, sing-alongs, story-telling, open studios, and a hot chocolate bar. Browse and buy fine artworks at the Holiday Art Show and artist studios. 4pm – 7pm

Photo Slam 2015 Award Winners Exhibit
November 11 – December 11
Location: Photoworks Gallery
This exhibit showcases the work of the winners of the Photoworks 2015 Photo Slam. At this event, photographers submit work in hopes of winning an exhibition in the Photoworks Gallery. Sunday & Monday 1pm – 8pm; Saturday 1pm – 4pm

Hidden Worlds: Paintings by Michele Banks
November 19 to January 8
Location: Park View Gallery
Hidden Worlds explores themes from science and medicine. Viewing these scientific images through the prism of art invites viewers to grapple with the idea of what it means to be alive and human. The work celebrates the joy of scientific discovery and the wonder of modern imaging technology, expressed through the ancient medium of painting. Monday – Saturday, 10am – 6pm.

Coffee and Critique
December 11
Location: Photoworks
Bring photos for informal feedback by a Photoworks faculty member, or just attend to take part in a lively and thoughtful conversation about fresh work from fellow photographers. Coffee and bagels are provided and the event is always free. 10am – 12pm.

Coffee and Critique Exhibition
December 16 – January 22, 2017
Location: Photoworks Gallery
“Coffee and Critique” is an informal group of photographers who meet monthly at Photoworks to show off their work and share feedback with each other and with Photoworks faculty. The exhibit will showcase a wide variety of philosophies, visions, and techniques. Sunday & Monday, 1pm – 8pm; Saturday, 1pm – 4pm.

Yellow Barn Weekend Exhibitions
The Yellow Barn Studio & Gallery presents weekend exhibitions of painting, drawing and mixed media works by their talented members. Learn more at www.yellowbarnstudio.com. Saturday and Sunday, 12pm – 5pm.

Art Explorers Family Studio
Every Saturday, 10am – 12:30pm
Location: The Candy Corner Studio
Join us on Saturday mornings, 10am to 12:30pm in the Candy Corner Studio for drop in art activities for parents and children. Activities change weekly and there is no pre-registration; $10 per child with a parent or caregiver. This weekly event is presented by Playgroup in the Park (PGiP) and Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts and Culture.
