TEMPERAMENT * MONOLITH at Honfleur Gallery brings together the range of concentrations practiced by sculptors Garth Fry, Dan Gray and Peter Krsko in a cohesive site-specific installation.

In TEMPERAMENT * MONOLITH Garth Fry, Dan Gray and Peter Krsko each focus on one medium (metal, paper, wood) and also contribute to creating two stand alone walls that unite the space at Honfleur Gallery. Gray seeks structure through rhythmic, mono-component forms and generates pieces that result from an investigation into alternative building strategies. Fry’s paper coils are created in a meditative state that allows the exposure of hidden feelings through a layer-by-layer process. Built out of wood, Krsko’s sculptures reveal the limits of the material while challenging its inherent flatness in geometrical and societal contexts. The three artists work out of adjacent studios in a large warehouse in Washington, DC and their collaboration comes as the result of this relationship. Though their day-to-day artistic pursuits are not focused on working directly with one another, TEMPERAMENT * MONOLITH demonstrates a familiarity and rich discourse between the sculptors.
