Creative Crafts Council: On Tour
Popcorn Gallery
January 16 to February 21, 2016

The Glen Echo Park Partnership is pleased to host Creative Crafts Council: On Tour.  This exhibition features artists whose work had received awards at the Creative Crafts Council 30th Biennial Exhibition, which originally took place at Strathmore Mansion in June-July 2015.

The Creative Crafts Council (CCC), started in 1954, is an umbrella organization of fine craft guilds in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia known for sponsoring a juried biennial exhibition of regional fine craft artists at the Strathmore Mansion in North Bethesda, Maryland every other year.  This original exhibition was juried by three expert jurors in their respective fields: Nora Atkinson, the new Lloyd Herman Curator of Craft at the Renwick Gallery; Frederick L. Wall, furniture maker and sculptor who works primarily in wood and metal and former professor at the Corcoran College of Art & Design; and Shana Kroiz, a jewelry and enamel artist who currently serves as Special Events and Workshop Coordinator of the Maryland Institute College of Art Jewelry Center, which she founded in 1992.
