ReCreative Spaces announces May Gallery Show, Injustice Among Us, a solo exhibit by Ganzeer.

Ganzeer combines his keen design aesthetic with his wish to document and discuss issues informing today’s political landscape. Injustice Among Us offers a visually and emotionally compelling look at what it means to live in America today from a perspective that is too often silenced.

The opening reception will include live performance by DC-Area native tap dancer, Baakari Wilder. Baakari has performed and taught internationally, including on Broadway in “Bring in ‘da Noise, Bring in ‘da Funk.” Baakari will use his feet via a distinctly American art form to continue the themes Ganzeer explores in his work. Baakari will then lead the audience on an art-making journey to discover how we can collectively create art that promotes discourse and uplifts us. An art-making station with materials provided by Plaza Art Supply will be available throughout the evening. The audience members will have the opportunity to create their own pieces based on their reactions to Ganzeer’s work.

Injustice Among Us is presented in conjunction with (Up)Rising Festival, taking place May 24 along Rhode Island Avenue NE. For more details on (Up)Rising Festival, please visit recreativespaces.com/uprising-festival
