The 30th Creative Crafts Council Biennial Exhibition

Opening Reception: Thursday, June 11 from 7pm to 9pm

The Creative Crafts Council presents some of the finest craft in the Mid-Atlantic region at their 30th Biennial Exhibition. The juried exhibition is located at the Mansion at Strathmore, 10701 Rockville Pike, North Bethesda, MD 20852 and will be on display from June 6 to July 26, 2015. The public is cordially invited to meet the artists and jurors in person at the Opening Reception on June 11, 2015 from 7:00- 9:00pm. Awards and prizes will be presented at the Opening Reception festivities.

The jurors include Nora Atkinson, the new Lloyd Herman Curator of Craft at the Renwick Gallery, Frederick L. Wall, furniture maker, sculptor and past professor at the Corcoran College of Art & Design and Shana Kroiz, jewelry and enamel artist who is a founder and Special Events Coordinator at the Maryland Institute College of Art Jewelry Center.

This biennial show is sponsored by the Creative Crafts Council (CCC), which represents artists working in ceramics, enamel, glass, fiber, metals, mixed media, polymer clay, and wood. The CCC is an organization representing fine craft guilds in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. The first Biennial Exhibition (in 1954) and the next five were held in the Smithsonian Institution’s Museum of Natural History. Since then, the Exhibition has been held at museums and galleries throughout the region, most recently at the Strathmore Mansion in North Bethesda, Maryland.
