A laundry list is basically a long to do list. It often has a negative implication of being filled with mundane tasks that aren’t very enjoyable but nonetheless have to get done. The concept behind this project is to encourage people to explore meaning in these everyday activities.

This event is free and open to the public.

Artist Presentation: Leslie Holt
“My inspiration for this project is a desire to get to know the community where I began to work in 2013 as a teaching artist and grant writer at Art Works Now and as a resident artist at Red Dirt Studios. I drive by Bunker Hill Laundromat on 34th Street almost every day on my way to and from Art Works or Red Dirt. I am attracted to small overlooked spaces where people go about their daily business. I am eager to interact with community members who may never get a chance to engage in the arts for a variety of reasons, including juggling family and work obligations. We will invite community members to make art or create a poem designed to examine and share their daily experiences. I hope the opportunity to interact creatively—inserting an arts activity into the time and space for household chores—will be revealing and fun for folks who participate.”

Bunker Hill Laundromat is located at 3846 34th Street, Mt Rainier.
