Acknowledging the significant contributions by artists of Prince George’s County, as demonstrated in the 2011 Prince George’s Juried Exhibition The Sky’s The Limit at the Brentwood Arts Exchange.

The Director’s Purchase Award Coffee Hour is presented in recognition of Director’s Purchase Award recipients Karen Hampton, Matthew Kerkhof, and Laura G. Thorne, as well as Prince George’s Arts and Humanities Council Purchase Award recipients Belle Hinnefeld and Manuel Renato Paucar.

Join Director Ronnie Gathers, Deputy Director Julie Forker, Division Chief Roslyn Johnson, and PGAHC Interim Executive Director Rhonda Dallas in celebration of these awards and of the Prince George’s County arts community.

A new program of the Prince George’s Department of Parks and Recreation, the Director’s Purchase Award is presented in support of the county’s artists and is selected from artworks featured in the annual Prince George’s County Juried Exhibition.  These artworks will become part of the Department’s permanent collection, to be displayed in its public facilities. In it’s inaugural year, the Department has selected works by Karen Hampton, Laura G. Thorne, and Matthew Kerkhof.

The Prince George’s Arts and Humanities Council joins the Prince George’s Department of Parks and Recreation in this presentation as it continues its own tradition of purchase awards at the annual Prince George’s County Juried Exhibition, this year selecting works by Belle Hinnefeld and Manuel Renato Paucar.
