CHAL's Hosts All-Media Exhibit 'Far Away' with Juror Marsha Staiger

The Capitol Hill Art League (CHAL) proudly presents an all-media juried exhibit entitled “Far Away” opening on Saturday, February 11, 2012, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop, 545 7th Street SE.  The juror of the show is Marsha Staiger, painter and instructor at The Art League in Alexandria, VA. Admission to the opening and exhibit is free.

Marsha Staiger is a seasoned Torpedo Factory artist in studio 322 and faculty member for painting with The Art League School. She works with Acadia Workshop Center in Maine and does workshops and classes for The Art League on an on going basis. As an artist, she has shown her work with The Art League Gallery, Louisa Gould Gallery in Martha’s Vineyard, MA, and has a five-year installation with Crystal City Art Walls. Her work has been exhibited in numerous locations in the area and recently in “Above Below” a muti-media exhibit at Black Rock’s Art Center in Germantown, MD.

The Capitol Hill Art League (CHAL) is a visual arts program of the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop, which presents seven juried shows of members’ work annually in all media as well as a special sale of smaller works in December.  CHAL provides artists with opportunities to exhibit and sell their work; supports artists’ growth; provides opportunities for artists to meet other artists and arts professionals, offers venues for artists to interact with the community at-large, showcases and promotes the work of area artists; educates the public about the value of the arts and artists to the Capitol Hill community and beyond.
