Born in Russia, Anna Demovidova studied painting and drawing at the Kalinin Art Academy in Moscow and then came to the U.S. to complete her B.F.A. at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
Anna Demovidova’s work is figurative, expressionistic and provocative. One of her main themes is women: their beauty, strength, desires, dreams but also fear of both the inner and outer worlds.
Demovidova has exhibited her work in many group and one-person shows in New York, Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC, where she now lives and works as a professional artist. Demovidova’s work is in national and international collections. She is a recipient of multiple grants from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, including 2005 Artist Fellowship.
