When we travel, there are always scenes and vistas that amaze us.  But when we attempt to photograph them, we end up with something disappointing, which results to buying postcards.

In their first travel exhibition, the images of the members of The Exposure Group African American Photographers Association, Inc. go beyond mere postcards.  The photographers have captured the essence of the places visited.  Looking at them, you cannot help but feel you are walking down a street in Paris or digging into a bushel of Maryland’s famous blue crabs.

The Center for Green Urbanism will host the travel photography exhibition, A Sense of Place, a new juried exhibition from The Exposure Group.   The exhibition will be on display at the Center for Green Urbanism in the Tubman-Mahan Gallery from Monday, November 14, 2011, through Saturday, December 3, 2011.

“A Sense of Place” will showcase the photographic work of the association members who include portrait artists, photojournalists, documentary, and fine art photographers.

The following Exposure Group members will be featured in this exhibition:

  • Bonita F. Bing Michael Gross
  • Benson Blake Gail A. Hansberry
  • E. Carol Burns Donnamaria R. Jones
  • Danita Delaney Gloria Kirk
  • Bruce Fagin Lionel Miller
