Step right up for an irresistible evening of sinful delights and breathtaking circus entertainment! Tilted Torch, DC’s premier variety show, returns to the Red Palace with another outrageous and dangerous production with sensational performers from DC, Maryland, and the Virgin Islands!

About the Performers

Malibu likes it hot! She is a steaming blend of naughty and the girl-next-door but with a twist!  She doesn’t take herself too seriously but commands the stage. Her acts range from mesmerizing or comedic fire play to colorful blacklight or LED performances. Malibu is a co-producer of Tilted Torch and has been lighting up stages across the globe, everywhere from DC to Costa Rica and every place in between.

Miss Joule has plenty to choose from in her bag of tricks. From burlesque and fire performance to sideshow and circus acts, you never know what Miss Joule will bring to the stage. According to the Washington Post, her “hips move in ways you never thought possible” and What Weekly found her “thoroughly entertaining.” Miss Joule was also featured in the book “Weird Virginia,” and “The People of Burning Man;” has performed on countless stages in the US, Canada, and Asia; and is co-founder of Tilted Torch.

Christylez Bacon is a GRAMMY Nominated Progressive Hip-Hop artist and multi-instrumentalist from Southeast, Washington, DC. As a performer, Christylez multi-tasks between various instruments such as the West African djembe drum, acoustic guitar, and the human beat-box (oral percussion), all while continuing the oral tradition of storytelling through his lyrics. Christylez is constantly pushing the envelope with a mission towards cultural acceptance and unification through music.

Marla Meringue is a burlesque performer and costumer who has been performing in the Baltimore/DC area for the past two years.  Marla’s work deals with issues of femininity and eroticism by creating characters, sumptuous outfits, and doing bizarre and wonderful things with both of them. Marla believes in the power of thoughtful, innovative, and high-quality performance to transform the lives and minds of audience members, whether that transformation brings them to a beautiful, frightening, or just plain fabulous place.  She is also a founding member of Sticky Buns Burlesque.

Shaell has been studying belly dance since 2004 due to her Moroccan background. She currently studies regularly with Baltimore tribal fusion instructor Naimah and is a member of award winning troupe Amandari. She has now been performing professionally for 5 1/2 years. She is known for her spiritual essence fused with pops n locks and intensity and has also been known to be “mysteriously moving to the audience.”

Shortstaxx, Tilted Torch’s femme-cee extraordinaire, keeps the show rolling with her witty, comedic and bawdy patter. Always imaginatively costumed, sexy Staxx femme-cees with gusto, lustily talking up the next act or riffing spontaneously on audience-yelled commentary. A local burlesque star and experimental theatre veteran, Shortstaxx has garnered attention for her innovative, creative, sometimes outrageous but always unique burlesque acts. She also co-hosts the burlesque/variety/art game show Loteria de Amor at DC’s Red Palace and is a member of the new Baltimore-based theatrical burlesque troupe Sticky Buns Burlesque.

Silver Raven brings some serious Caribbean HEAT to her performances.  She has lived in the Virgin Islands for the last three years and danced at events such as the world-famous “Old Year’s Night” party at Foxy’s,  the St. Thomas Rolex Regatta party, and the St. John Festival Parade.  When she lived in the DC area, she ran a troupe called Flights of Fire that performed throughout the Mid-Atlantic and had a monthly show at the Palace of Wonders called “Hot Night in the City.”
