Saturday November 23

Brentwood Arts Exchange (11am to 2pm)

This weekend, bring the family (or just yourself!) and create a glitter centerpiece for Thanksgiving.  While the BAE has a few centerpiece molds from which to work, attendees are encouraged to bring their own items to glitter.  This workshop is free.  For more info, click here.

 Alleycat Studios (3pm to 6pm)

Alleycat studios is worth a visit just in itself as it is tucked away in one of Capitol Hill’s most bucolic alleys in which a “secret” garden is located.  Three artists Pat Goslee, Sally Kauffman and Lynn Putney will be showing work at the studio.  For more info, click here.

Art at the Yards (on view through mid-December)

See a series of multistory murals now through mid-December at the Yards located at the southeast waterfront next to the baseball Stadium.  Artists from across the US and even Australia have participated in the project.  For more info, click here.

Sunday November 24

Catalyst Projects (1pm to 4pm)

During this three hour workshop taught by Stephanie Booth, participants will get hands on experience with toner transfers and learn about other transfers possibilities. Attendees will make gel medium transfer from a toner print and may bring their own print (color laser or color photocopy) to work from or use one provided.  Registration required.

Phil Hutinet, a third generation Capitol Hill resident, is the publisher of East City Art, DC's Visual Arts publication, which he began in 2010.
