CHAW and Dance is the Answer team up to kick off the combined unveiling and installation of Box O’ Art.  The exhibit will initially occur on Friday, April 15, 2011 between 6:30-7:15 pm at Eastern Market’s North Hall (225 7th St, SE) during a Tango Your Taxes Off reception from 6:00-8:00 pm.

Honfleur Gallery presents Baltimore’s Wind up Space New Clear Daze, an exploration of similarities and differences in the work of four emerging Baltimore visual artists- Andrew Liang, Eamon Espey, David Fair and Matt Bovie.  Honfleur Gallery is located at 1227 Good Hope Road SE.  The show begins at 7pm

The Gallery at Vivid Solutions will show Destino the inexorable journey across Mexico to El Sueño Americano by Michelle Frankfurter.  The exhibition follows Central American migrants who endure a host of adversities in a desperate, gauntlet-running journey across Mexico.  The Gallery at Vivid Solutions is located at 2208 Martin Luther King Jr Avenue SE.  The show begins at 6pm

G Fine Art will present a month of Art and Poetry Readings.   A Rotating Selection from the Gallery artists including iona rozeal brown, Linn Meyers, Maggie Michael, Dan Steinhilber, Ian Whitmore, and others is on view at the gallery.  The month long event kicks off Friday with readings from Joe Hall, Adam Marstona and Katy Bohine from 8pm to 10pm. G Fine Art is located at 1350 Florida Avenue NE.

Monday, April 18

OK, so Monday is not exactly the weekend but pretend it’s a holiday and go out Joe’s Movement Emporium from 6pm to 8pm for the opening of Mexican artist Alberto Garcia’s Mujeres (Women). The artist, who will be in attendance, will shed light on the plight of the citizens of Ciudad Juarez, ground zero for the Mexican war on drugs. Joe’s Movement Emporium is located just over Eastern Avenue at 3309 Bunker Hill Road Mount Rainier, MD.
