Matt Pinney will lecture on the best practices for avoiding harmful exposures to the chemicals involved in painting with fine arts materials. The lecture will explain what materials can be harmful and how to handle oil and acrylic paint in order to minimize the possible effects on the body.

Matt Pinney is a multi-media artist living and working in Washington, DC. He has shown his work nationally and internationally, and is an Assistant Professor at Northern Virginia Community College’s Manassas campus where he teaches studio art. He is also a faculty member at The Art League at the Torpedo Factory. Pinney received his Masters of Fine Arts from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and his Bachelors of Fine Arts from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.
