Writing for Artists: A Participatory Workshop with Robert Bettmann

Workshop: Saturday, February 28 from 3:30pm to 5pm

In this 90 minute hands-on workshop, attendees will consider various types of writing by artists, including press releases, artist statements, web text, and grant applications. Participants are invited to bring examples of their writing to workshop by the group, and will have the opportunity to draft and workshop new text. Participants can expect to leave with a clearer understanding of how to pursue their writing projects more effectively.

This workshop is presented through a generous grant from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities.

Robert Bettmann is an arts writer and editor, and founder of the magazine Bourgeon. He publishes regularly in popular and scholarly outlets, including the Huffington Post.  Bettmann has taught similar workshops for the Rockville Art League, Washington Project for the Arts, and Hamiltonian Artists.
