Introduction to Sculpture Course
Spring 2016, Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Local Artist Charles Bergen will be teaching a course at the University of District of Columbia’s Van Ness Campus this spring. In ARTS 251 – Introduction To Sculpture basic sculpture materials and methods are explored as students create original sculptural artworks. Additive and subtractive methods of sculpture are examined as students learn the physical and aesthetic qualities of working three dimensionaly. Students will work in wood, clay, wire, found objects as well as paper and cardboard. The focus is on both representational and abstract forms. Includes studio intensive work, readings, and field trips to the Renwick and the Hirschhorn Museums. No Prerequisite Required. Involves use of mechanical equipment and power tools in the studio workspace. Studio course. Space is limited.

Tuition and fees at UDC are waived for District Residents 65 and older.
If you are a Senior you will please need to register for the class in person at UDCs Van Ness Campus between the hours of 8:30 AM and 5 PM.
