Beyond Words: Storytelling in a Visual World
Saturday, Oct 18, 2:00 – 5:00pm
Considering that 90% of the information we take in is visual, storytelling has become more than just the words you say. Beyond Words will utilize personal exchanges, experimentive ways of looking, and physical exercises to enhance and deepen the impact of your story. The class is open to anyone who wants to tell stories in non-traditional ways, playwrights who want to expand their playwriting vocabulary and performers and improvisors who want to move beyond words. Participants should bring a story they’d like to tell and an object of significance related to the story or an object they think is interesting. Instructor Rachel Hynes is banished? artistic associate, and an international devisor and experimental theatre artist who creates works from Seattle to New York to London.
