Join Nina Simon, the internationally-recognized expert on active community participation in cultural institutions, for a FREE workshop designed to give you the tools to connect with arts audiences and unlikely community partners in effective, meaningful and lasting ways.

Intimately attuned to the DC metro area’s unique programmatic and marketing challenges, Nina spent four years as the Spy Museum’s Experience Development Specialist prior to her spearheading the highly-acclaimed turn-around at the Museum of Art and History in Santa Cruz, CA. Learn how to apply these grassroots community participation principles in any discipline to invigorate your organization.

The author of The Participatory Museum (2010) and the popular Museum 2.0 blog, Nina Simon has been described as a “museum visionary” by Smithsonian Magazine for her audience-centered approach to design. Nina has worked as an independent consultant and exhibition designer with over one hundred museums and cultural centers around the world. Nina has spoken to acclaim about her participatory audience and programming philosophy everywhere from TEDx to the keynote address at the 2012 AFTA/National Arts Marketing Project conference, and that same year received the American Alliance for Museums’ Nancy Hanks Memorial Award. Her participatory methods at the Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History are considered a contemporary benchmark.
