CulturalDC Selected to Produce Creative Placemaking Initiative by DC Office of Planning

CulturalDC announces its selection by the District of Columbia Office of Planning to produce a creative placemaking initiative at the historic Walter Reed campus site.

The Office of Planning grant “Crossing the Street” which is to be implemented by CulturalDC as “Crossing the Street-Walter Reed” through the design of unique arts-based experiences, development and promotion of creative placemaking events, and the creative engagement of the Ward 4 community. The CulturalDC led initiative will also promote artist entrepreneurship and community building.

“CultualDC is thrilled to be selected among the recipients of the innovative Crossing the Street grant. We applaud the Office of Planning for its efforts,” added CulturalDC Interim Executive Director Tanya Hilton. “We know that art has the ability to inspire and transform communities, as we have experienced many times over our 18 years of working to “make space for art” in communities throughout the city.”
