District Clay Opens Student Gallery

District Clay, a new 2,000 square foot ceramic studio, has opened a student gallery with a wide range of ceramic ware. The gallery contains work by District Clay students, instructors and artists in residence and is open to the public during regular District Clay classes. The gallery is currently showing work by six District Clay instructors and artists in residence. The work ranges from functional wheel thrown pottery, slip cast ceramics, ceramic dioramas and ceramic sculpture.

District Clay offers a wide range of ceramic and pottery classes, including classes for adults and kids. It is the first new ceramic studio that offers classes to open in the District in 20 years.Classes at District Clay include basic wheel throwing, ceramic sculpture and ceramic tile and are be held during the day, on week nights and weekends.
