Driskell Center Launches New Website

The Driskell Center has announced that the launch of a new website. The web address will remain the same, but the new site will be easier to navigate and showcase the many features of the Driskell Center. The new site, will feature programming tentatively scheduled for 2021 due to the unexpected death of Professor Driskell earlier this year.  The programming is dedicated to celebrating his life and legacy.  However, because of the uncertain nature of COVID-19, the programming remains a work in progress. The new website will provide timely and updated event information.  The center’s website URL is www.driskellcenter.umd.edu

Fall 2020 Exhibition: David C. Driskell Papers

The Driskell Papers was assembled over more than six decades and consists of an estimated 50,000 objects, including lecture notes; students’ dissertations; slides from artist studios and exhibitions; magazines; and correspondences with nationally known artists.

Spring 2021 Exhibition: David C. Driskell and His Students

This exhibition will focus on works by David C. Driskell’s students and how his mentorship impacted their lives and work.
