Rhonda Dallas, Executive Director, Prince George’s Arts and Humanities Council (PGAHC) has been appointed a new member of the Maryland Fine Arts Education Advisory Panel under the Fine Arts Office of the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE). The mission of the Fine Arts Education Advisory Panel is to advocate for fine arts education for students in Maryland through oversight of student participation, instructional practices and programmatic development and implementation.
“It’s great to have our community partner, Prince George’s Arts and Humanities Council, representing our county schools on the Fine Arts Education Advisory Panel for the state of Maryland. Their partnership with Prince George’s County Public Schools is extremely valuable to our school system and we are honored to have Prince George’s Arts and Humanities Council as our representative,” John Ceschini, Arts Integration Officer, Prince George’s County Public Schools.
Since its inception 30 years ago, PGAHC has been dedicated to supporting arts in education. PGAHC awards annual grants for in school and out of school programs and professional training for the purpose of increasing access to high quality arts learning for all children. MSDE Fine Arts Office works closely with the Maryland State Arts Council and the Arts Education in Maryland Schools Alliance to ensure that Maryland is a national leader in arts education.
