Alexandria Mayor Allison Silberberg Hangs Artwork from Torpedo Factory in Office

By Editorial Team on March 16, 2016

As part of her commitment to promoting the arts in Alexandria, Mayor Allison Silberberg will have three works of art on view in her office that were created by artists at the Torpedo Factory Art Center.

The works are Tory Cowles’s (studio 7) #875, Matthew Johnston’s (studio 310) Black Rooster, and Andra Patterson’s (studio 308) Immersion.

Each painting is on complimentary loan to the Mayor’s office into early 2017. The work is also available for purchase through Target Gallery and the Torpedo Factory’s Art in Public Spaces initiative, should a visitor be interested in owning the work.

“We’re so blessed to have a community of world-class artists right here in Alexandria,” said Silberberg. “I want to promote the arts, not just in words but in deeds. When people visit my office, I am proud to display and promote the work that is created here. This partnership with Tory, Matthew, Andra, and the Torpedo Factory is about actionable commitment to the arts in our daily lives.”
