Mount Vernon Triangle Art Installation Questions the Changing Nature of Cities

By Valerie Ippolito on June 5, 2015

Installed in the rapidly developing Mount Vernon Triangle neighborhood in downtown DC at the intersection of 5th and K Streets NW, Rachel Schmidt’s City Fields will be on view through October 2015. The 160-foot fence wrap features a collage of five major cities with hand-drawn illustrations of local wildlife integrated into the compiled cityscape. Schmidt will engage with the community on Saturday, June 27 at the Mount Vernon Triangle Farmer’s Market to discuss the future of cities and their co-evolution with nature.
