Kay Kendall, who has more than four decades worth of experience with arts, education, and community outreach, was appointed the new chair of the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanitites (DCCAH) earlier this month. Recently a co-chair on the Transition Ream on Arts and the Creative Economy for Mayor Muriel Bowser, Kendall was a board member of the Washington Ballet for over 25 years, currently sits on the boards of CityDance and THEARC, founded the consultant firm Kendall+Associates in 2008, and consults on fundraising and non-profit board governance. Mayor Bowser gave her praise, saying, “As a longtime resident of the District of Columbia, she understands the importance of celebrating arts not just in the downtown core but throughout our vibrant neighborhoods.”
