Torpedo Factory Artists @ Mosaic Announce Winners of 2021 Regional Painting Competition

Torpedo Factory Artists have opened their gallery to some of the finest regional painters within a several hundred mile radius of the Fairfax, Virginia location. These artists work in watercolor, oil, ink, gouache, acrylic, encaustic and mixed media.

Local companies and arts groups donated generous prizes for the top artists selected by juror Phil Hutinet, Publisher of East City Art. The best in show prize of $750 was donated by FrameMasters, a custom picture framing and framing supplies store in Merrifield, Virginia. Additional prizes were provided by Rhonda Campbell Perry of Campbell Residential Group ($500), The Capitol Hill Art League ($150) and Potomac Valley Watercolorists ($100).

The winners of the competition are:

  •  BEST in SHOW:  Roderick Turner, Atlantic Street SE Washington DC
  •  SECOND Place:  Ally Morgan, Girls II
  •  THIRD Place:  Carl Yonder, Slide
  •  WATERCOLOR AWARD: Sydney Evidente, Fushimi Inari
  •  HONORABLE Mention: David Beker, Suburbs;  Ruth Lozner, Home Alone; Rebecca Rose, Escape

Regional Painting Competition is on view  July 23 – August 22, Torpedo Factory Artists @ Mosaic, 2905 District Avenue, #105, Fairfax, Virginia. Open Wednesday thru Sunday 11 – 7.
