Artists’ Talk: Tuesday, November 28 from 6pm to 8pm
Join Arlington Arts in celebrating the perspectives of local fine art photographers Frank Hallam Day and Anne Rowland who have each uniquely captured images of Arlington’s built and natural environments.
The artists have individually documented aspects of Arlington — Hallam Day of Rosslyn’s architecture juxtaposed with blooming trees and Rowland of the Potomac River waterfront’s lush and diverse summer terrain for the Art on the ART bus program.
Anne Rowland’s images will be on exhibit from Nov. 28, 2017 – Jan. 31, 2018 in the Courthouse Plaza lobby and Frank Hallam Day’s photographs will be on permanent display in the lobby meeting rooms.
The Art on the ART bus with Anne Rowland’s exhibition will be in circulation and stop in front of 2100 Clarendon Blvd. at 6:39 and 7:49 p.m. Announcements will be made to view the bus upon its arrival.
Located in the Plaza Branch Library adjacent to the reception, the Made in Arlington shop will remain open for this event. Eight Arlington entrepreneurs and artists are featured in this special shop.
Event sponsored by Arlington Arts and Arlington Transit.
The Art on the ART Bus program is an example of how Arlington Arts is building community through artistic outreach in Arlington. The mobile gallery shows original art on an Arlington Transit — or ART — public bus, cultivating a vibrant arts experience for transit riders in the area.
This project is part of Courthouse 2.0: Reimagining the Civic a public art initiative aimed at sparking public conversation about the future Courthouse Square by exploring the interaction between civic space and civic life in Arlington in the twenty-first century.
Courthouse Plaza Lobby is located at 2100 Clarendon Blvd., Arlington, VA. For more information, call (703) 228-1850 or visit arlingtonarts.org.
