Symposium: Thursday, October 27 from 12:30pm to 6pm

The University of Maryland Art Gallery, in collaboration with the Department of Art History and Archaeology and the Latin American and the Caribbean Studies Center, invite you to join to a hybrid-format symposium in conjunction with the exhibition Re•Cast: Sculptural Works from the Art Museum of the Americas, on view during the 2022 Fall semester.

The event will take place in the gallery and will feature two panels, moderated respectively by gallery staff and by the exhibition curators, as well as an artist roundtable in the afternoon. For more information and/or questions about the event, please email mpjuarez@umd.edu.

The symposium brings together an international group of early scholars and artists present in the exhibition, to share their recent research and development of sculptural practices in the artistic production of the Americas during the 20th and 21st centuries. Two research panels will be held in a hybrid format. The artists’ roundtable will be held through Zoom in Spanish language, with live translation to English.
