Artist Talk: Saturday, October 5 from 6pm to 8pm

Fred Schnider Gallery of Art presents Melanie Kehoss’ LUMISTORY through October 26, 2019.  Kehoss’ cut paper light boxes whimsically narrate the origins of cultural phenomena, from cuisine, to mourning, to social media. This solo show presents twenty-one pieces from the past decade, including the public debut of five works and an installation about the fraught history of sugar.

Kehoss’ work has appeared in over ninety exhibits throughout the country.  She manages the Arlington Visual Art Studio Tour and serves on the board of the Guild of American Papercutters.  At the October 5 artist talk, Kehoss will discuss the histories that inspire her pieces, the painstaking process involved in making them, and the evolution of this unusual approach.
